12 Tips for Gorgeous Skin: Tip 4: Drink Water But Not Just Any Water

The CHEAPEST Way to Gorgeous:

Everyone is looking for the fountain of youth in all the wrong places like drug stores, beauty counters at department stores, and the offices of plastic surgeons. But the truest answer to gorgeous, younger looking skin is a lot simpler and less expensive––water. Why spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on creams, treatments, injections, or surgeries when you can simply drink your way to better looking, healthier skin?

But Not All Waters Are the Same:

Before you go pour yourself a tall glass of tap water, or grab a bottle of plain drinking water, let me suggest better, more effective options.

There is such a thing as drinking too much water:

First, you must know that too much of a good thing isn't good for you at all, and the same goes for water. The problem with water is that it makes you urinate, and the more you drink, the more you go, and the more you go, the more electrolytes you lose and the more dehydrated you become. Then, the more dehydrated you get, the more water you drink and the cycle continues. Ergo, too much water can actually dehydrate you!

Electrolytes are the Answer:

Electrolytes are amazing and, in a nutshell, they are the cure to and preventative measure of dehydration. They are the ingredient in sports drinks like Gatorade that keep athletes hydrated while playing and participating in their sport. But, sports drinks are filled with artificial colors and sweeteners, and who knows what else. So, why ingest all that extra stuff when what you really need is the electrolytes?

So, instead of grabbing just any kind of water, reach for a bottle or a case of electrolyte enhanced water. The Trader Joe's brand of electrolyte water is much cheaper than brands like SmartWater.

The Bonus of Alkaline:

Trader Joe's also has a very affordable electrolyte alkaline water, which is said help your body's pH balance by neutralizing acidity. This is still debatable, according to published reports, but I have enjoyed the benefits natural alkaline water for years and have noticed a difference in my body when I am not drinking electrolytes or alkaline waters. I find it harder to recover from physical activity or even a night out when I haven't had my special water. So, if you see this water, or one like it, pick it up. It's worth a shot!

How Much Water is Enough Water?

I like to recommend that my gorgeous readers drink at least 2 liters of electrolyte water within a 24 hour period. Also:

  • Stay away from sugary juices and sodas and opt for fresh pressed veggie and fruit juice combos, instead.
  • Keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum, drinking just socially.

Water is your best ally and the natural way to detox. Flush your organs with nature's fountain of youth and see your skin transform in as little as a week or two. So, drink up!
