5 Week Tweak: Week #4 –– Shift

For the past month, as summer vacation wound down, we have focused our self-care, giving each week a theme to abide by: repair, realign, prepare, and now, we shift! Members know this is my favorite form care –– the willingness and ability to move, to change one’s circumstances by making a change and taking a leap, no matter how small.

Week #4: Shift

This is the part of changing one’s life that most people have the most trouble with –– the part were they actually change something! The fact of the matter is that most of us operate based on fear and anxiety, by basing our current decisions on events that have happened in the past (fear), and events that might or could happen, but havent (anxiety). This is what keeps people stuck. When we make decisions based on fear and anxiety, we often make terrible decisions, including no decision at all.

If nothing changes, nothing changes.

In order to shift your circumstances, overall, you will have to create a shift in one particular circumstance in your life. One small shift will create a ripple effect in your life, and soon, a series of shifts will follow. This is why it’s important to make sure your decisions are well-informed ones, based on your core desires, needs, passions, and purpose.

This Week’s Practice:

This week’s practice is, either, the simplest thing you can do, or the most challenging. This week, you will change something, and you will change it without hesitation or too much thought of what will happen next. Here’s how you’ll do it:

  • Ask yourself, “What in my life makes me unhappy?”

  • Answer yourself, and to make it more real, write down the answer(s).

  • Do one thing, right away, to change or remove what makes you unhappy.

  • If you have more than one thing on your list today, plan on doing one thing each day to change or remove each item.

The key to this practice is the belief that nothing is more important than your happiness and peace-of-mind. Do not think about what will happen next, other than the fact that you will be happier and healthier when you change or remove this item from your life. When you remove the people, circumstances, and habits that do not serve you or bring you joy, you will open the passageway for better energy and more blessings to enter.

Faith and fear cannot exist in the same place at the same time. You will have to choose one.

Most people hold on to their pain, afraid of what might happen if they let it go. This is a case of the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. But, most often, the devil you know is keeping you from the blessings you deserve!

So, let go or be dragged.
