The salesladies pointed me in the direction of this Soapwalla deodorant cream with nothing but rave reviews for its effectiveness. Its been somewhere around a bazillion degrees in Los Angeles, lately, and when one of the ladies said she bikes to work and still doesn't stink to high heaven, I was sold.
This 2 ounce jar was $14.00 and I find it well worth the purchase based on the ingredients, listed below:
(*: certified organic, +: food-grade)
Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*; Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil*; Rosehip Seed Oil*; Butyrospermun parkii (Shea) Butter; Corn Starch*+; Sodium Bicarbonate+; Kaolin Clay; Vegan Kosher Glycerin*+; a custom blend of essential oils, including: Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender)*; Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree)*; Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange); Mentha Piperita (Peppermint)*; Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergaptene-free Bergamot)*; Non-GMO Vitamin E*+.
It smells yummy (mostly like the tea tree oil its list of ingredients) and absorbs quickly and with no residue.
I also love that this product is made in Brooklyn and contains no animal byproducts, so it is also vegan. I could only love this deodorant more if it were organic but, one step at a time.
Most importantly, I feel better about using a natural deodorant after over 20 years of using more commercial deodorants that contain cancer causing chemicals. Read this article at LiveStrong.com about the dangers of deodorants, then, go natural!
It may cost a bit more but it will never cost more than your health and life is worth.
Or, why not make your own deodorant?
There are so many alternatives and each one of them is better than the poisons we have been programmed to use since we were children, since there is so much information our parents and grandparents didn't have or, truthfully, ignored.
It seems the hippies may have had it right, all along!
And, as we continue to learn about natural, non-toxic, and organic alternatives, let's be sure to teach our children and give them a better quality of life as they grow.
