About 7 years ago, I stopped drinking and eating dairy––for the most part. At home, we only drink almond milk and though I still use butter, I have to seriously limit my cheese intake. Thus far, I have not found a suitable cheese substitute and I doubt I ever will.
Cheese is just cheese.
So, I limit myself to an ounce per month. Anything more than an ounce and I catch a cold. The thing with dairy is that it promotes phlegm and phlegm is where viruses love to live. It's warm and wet and perfect for the multiplication of sick cells.
I have also switched to vegan mayonnaise since regular mayo is made with raw eggs, which also promotes phlegm.
Needless to say, I don't eat ice cream made with cow's milk. See, the thing about cow's milk is that human beings are the only mammals that drink milk after infancy and the milk of other mammals, unless in a life or death situation.
We really don't need it but what would we do with our cereal?
Anyway, I switched to non-dairy ice cream, made from coconut milk and this version is my favorite. So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream comes in a variety of flavors. It is creamy and delicious and much better for you than dairy ice cream. I am obsessed with this Cherry Amaretto flavor and enjoyed it with apple crumble––every night for 3 nights.
