Lately, I've been seeing this commercial for green beans in a can and I always say to myself, "Who the hell wants canned vegetables?"
I've never understood the concept of canned vegetables unless, ofcourse, there is an apocalypse. Naturally, I understand canned food collection services for the needy and such, but I also understand that tons of fresh food is thrown away by grocery stores each day –– food that can very easily be distributed to those in need.
But back to green beans.
- Green beans, fresh, organic
- olive oil
- ½ onion
- cherry tomatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- After trimming and washing beans, sautée them lightly in olive oil and butter with onions, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes.
- Season to taste with sea salt, fresh cracked pepper, and a clove of garlic.
Kick the can.
