Crispy Cod Fillets


  • cod
  • sea salt
  • black pepper, freshly ground
  • garlic powder
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Panko crumbs
  • flour
  • oil (for frying)


  1.  Season fillets according to your taste
  2. Beat eggs in large bowl
  3. Pour a 70/30 mixture of Panko crumbs and flour in large plate
  4. Dip fillets in egg
  5.  Place fillets in bread crumb and flour mixture
  6.  With spoon, cover fillets with mixture. Patmixture into fish so it adheres. Flip and do the same on the other side. Use your hands to finish the process. Place to the side and let rest before frying.
  7.  Heat oil on medium/high heat
  8. Test oil's readiness with a few bread crumbs
  9. When oil is hot (but not too hot) place a couple fillets in the skillet
  10. Turn after 3-5 minutes with tongs
  11. Keep turning until browned and fully cooked
  12. Place on paper towels and/or brown paper bag to drain
