- 1 oz. absinthe
- 3 oz. water
- 1 sugar cube
- Pour absinthe in a glass
- Lay absinthe spoon on top of glass
- Place sugar cube atop absinthe spoon
- Pour water over sugar cube and unto the glass
- Drop any remaining sugar into the glass and stir
Absinthe is 110 proof and is nothing to take lightly. Sip slowly and carefully. Put your glass down between sips and after you've had half your drink, wait about 10 or 15 minutes before continuing. There seems to be a time-release effect with absinthe; it can really sneak up on you, especially if you like the taste of licorice.
