Review: ILIA Mascara

Review: ILIA Mascara

When I visited The Detox Market, yesterday, I was on a mission to find just two things… a natural, non-toxic deodorant and a natural non-toxic mascara.

The salesladies insisted I try this ILIA mascara in Nightfall black.  On of the ladies did tell me that they usually stock 100% Pure Mascara, which is a little cleaner than the ILIA, but they were all sold out at the time. No problem, I tool the ILIA home.

So far, I love this mascara, especially the brush!

Before, I was using Tarte's Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara and found that the clay formula dried out very quickly and I was constantly having to use my sterile contact solution to loosen it up before applying. I didn't like their brush, either. I found the mascara clumpy, thick, and not very effective in extending my lashes. When the container broke at the opening, I gladly threw it away.

For the last few weeks, I have been using my regular drugstore mascara and my eyes have not been happy! Since I started cutting out the toxins from my skincare, make-up, bath and body and household products, I find that my skin and body has become alot more sensitive to the presence of chemicals.

I can no no longer use dirty mascara!

So, I was happy to try ILIA and, thus far, I just love it. The brush is the best brush I have found on a mascara wand in, maybe, years and the formula is of a perfect consistency. It does not over-coat and the neck of the tube does and amazing job of removing excess mascara –– something lacking in my old tube of Tarte.

This .22 ounce tube was $24.00 and well worth the price . Nothing is too much in the interest of health and well-being. My eyes are happy and I am gorgeous!
