Sunset Walks and the Weight of the Day

Your fitness journey doesn't have to begin or continue in the gym and it doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, one of my favorite portions of my fitness routine is my sunset walks. This time of year, as summer slowly turns into fall, I love the weather and the feel of the air as the coolness of the night moves in. My neighbors are just getting home and some are just siting down to dinner. I love to see the lights in their windows and shadows of their families beyond their curtains.

These moments are not just about exercise, but about the calming of my mind and spirit at the end of the day. These walks are about my mental health and satisfaction, about my personal healing, and rejuvenation. They are necessary.

You don't need to be a gym rat to be fit and you don't need to spend money for endorphins. Find ways to heal and repair your body and mind around your home and neighborhood. Take time with yourself and walk.
