I'm in LA working for the week. Feels great to be back so soon, as I just moved away from LA (for the first time in my life) to Brooklyn, three weeks ago. I love working in LA because I have quickly learned how luxurious it is to have a car. In NYC, there is nothing glamorous about carrying 10 garment bags through the subway. In LA, I can dress cute and jump into a car after every store. This is my shopping outfit for the week. Sneakers, always. Black, always. Lace, always.

I wanted to give a nod to Monica Rose with this post. Everyone knows who Kim Kardashian is and looks to her as style inspiration. As a stylist I have been amazed to see the impact Monica has had on fashion. How she dresses Kim, Khloe, Kylie, Gigi or Chanel (to name a few of her clients) becomes a trend. She styled them all in chokers. Now everyone wears a choker. All of the current trends people follow from their favorite celebs are actually being created by a stylist, and I think that is amazing.

I bought this entire outfit this week, which means you can have it too! The shirt + bodysuit are from H&M and the jacket is Zara.

Stylist Tips:

  • The jacket is men's. I wanted it a little oversized, and a men's small did what a women's size didn't.
  • I wore these sneakers in my last post for a few reasons:
    • I live in sneakers; they are the most comfortable and convenient style of shoe for my job.
    • I love what a white sneaker does to an all-black look. So chic.

The On Call Stylist

I am a stylist. I have worked in the industry since I was 18, starting as a wardrobe intern on The Ellen Show. I was paid in sneakers. Since then, I have worked with all of your favorite celebrities. And as exciting as that is, it isn’t ever as fulfilling as helping my friends get dressed for a date or special occasion.

To me, style = confidence. If you feel like you look incredible and sexy, that will shine through. If you feel frumpy, that’ll show as well.

I started my company, The On Call Stylist, because I want everyone to have the luxury of a personal stylist. For just $20, Facetime me from your closet and I will help you use what you already own to get dressed. You can then walk into any meeting/date/interview/regular day, the most confident version of yourself!
