Hello there Gorgeous Girls! I hope you all are off to a wonderful week. It's Wednesday, so I'm here to bring you this weeks home decor tips and tricks you can do, even while on a budget.
I used to really be into fashion, but I have to say I love and appreciate style more. I like the simplicity of style, the fact you can dress how you feel, and just be you. In my home, I have fashion images throughout, fashion books I use to accessorize, and of course my other amazing good reads I have. I always believe your home should match your lifestyle and personal style...always remember, what you like is always en vogue.
4 Ways to Accessorize with Books
1. The Stack for the Fashionista
A coffee table or a trunk makes the perfect space to add a stack of books or even magazines. It instantly pops, shows your personal interests, and give guests some reading material.
Simply said, yes a book shelf is the typical place to house books...but there's an art to it. I love to group books that are related, maybe stand them up, have some laying flat, then add a really cute and bold decor item. Z Gallerie has nice bookends to hold books up, but still very stylish. I also use a lot of decor pieces from Home Goods to accessorize my book shelf.
3. Make Use of that Old Fireplace:
One of my virtual clients needed some design advice. I offer calls from clients who need targeted advice...her concern was her unoccupied fireplace. She purchased a home in DC, that was built in the 1800s, very old, but the bones are strong! Long story short, she had this fireplace that she didn't know what to do with. I gave her the idea of using it as a focal point in that room...I decided for her to use books to decorate since she was an avid reader.
In this world there are many people. You have those that don't like reading, the ones that sell books after reading, and the ones that collect each book they've read as well as the other 50 they have not got to yet, this one is for you! Why not turn your wall into a floor to ceiling book shelving system? Ikea has the tools to do it. Then get you a nice chesterfield, and you're complete!
Decor is fun! Whether you're creative or prefer simplicity, there is something for everyone and every style. Design for you.
Like Coco Chanel said, "fashion fades, style is timeless"...what you like will never go out of style. Enjoy the rest of your week Gorgeous Girl. See you next Wednesday!
