My New Glow Recipe Facial Routine

After trying Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Sleep Mask, I was excited to try more Glow Recipe products, and so far, they do not disappoint. About two weeks ago, I ordered their Glowipedia Glass Skin Kit, and have used it since. After being dedicated to Juice Beauty for over a decade, Glow Recipe has easily become my new favorite. Here’s why…

Juice Beauty

Even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with Juice Beauty, and I still incorporate their products into my routine, they have not updated their formulas over the past decade –– nor their packaging of their website, for that matter. Juice Beauty seems to be stuck in the past, and at a time when women are learning about, and searching for more “active” skincare, Juice Beauty is missing out by not taking advantage of this new wave.

Glow Recipe

What I love about this line is that it’s non-toxic and uses natural fruit extracts, just like Juice Beauty. But, they have also incorporated some well sought after acids. Here’s a peak of what you will find inside their Glass Skin Set, and don’t forget you can save $15 on your Glow Recipe order with our coupon.

Blueberry

This vitamin- and antioxidant-rich berry helps fight free radicals to prevent premature aging, naturally hydrate, calm inflammation, and minimize discoloration. In other words, it will keep you looking young and fresh.

Watermelon

Amino-rich watermelon extract intensely hydrates, soothes and fights free radical damage to ward off fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.

Pineapple

A potent source of natural vitamin C, natural AHA, and bromelain enzymes for bright, smooth, and hydrated skin. It visibly fades dark spots, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation for smoother, clearer skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Instantly quench thirsty skin with hyaluronic acid. This holy grail hydrator retains 1000 times its weight in water to breathe new life to dry, rough skin.

My Results

The texture of my skin has smoothed, that’s for sure, but the Watermelon moisturizer in the kit is not enough for my skin. The directions for the moisturizer does mention topping it with a thick cream in order to add and seal in moisture. So, I have been been using my Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer with a few drops of facial oil or just the oil on its own. Currently, I am using castor oil, which is very thick (like glycerin) and that has been working out for me, thus far.

I use this kit twice a day, and apply the Watermelon mask on the weekends nights. I like using my Monty Clay right before, for an extra boost to my skin. Be sure to use sunscreen when dealing in acids, by the way. Your skin will be more sensitive to exposure.

Although the kit’s Blueberry cleanser is well and good, I prefer Juice Beauty’s Blemish Clearing Cleanser. Some days, I simply oil cleanse and/or steam. It all depends on the day.

I love the Pineapple serum in this kit. You might read online reviews that say it smells really bad, but it doesn’t. It smells like Vitamin C pills and pineapple, which is exactly as it should smell, given the ingredients.

I highly recommend this kit, but be sure to use it only 2-3 days a week, to start. In between, take it easy with the DOW Method, until your skin grows accustomed to the active acids in Glow Recipe.
