Review: The Honest Company: Lavender Vanilla Deodorant Spray

Review: The Honest Company: Lavender Vanilla Deodorant Spray

For the last couple months, I have been using The Honest Company's new deodorant spray in their original scent, Bergamot Sage, and have given the deodorant to my teenage son, as well. So far, we are both enjoying the benefits of this natural, non-toxic deodorant. So, with my original bottle dwindling, I decided to try one of their newest scents, Lavender Vanilla.

Lavender and vanilla are two of my favorite scents, and I have also purchased this scent combination in Honest's Air + Fabric Freshener, as well as their Aromatic Soy Candles. I must admit, I don't know just how much any of these products smell like lavender, vanilla, or a mixture of the two, but the aroma is pleasant, same as with the deodorant.

My last review on this product still stands. I find it very effective and have been  amazed by how well is helps keep my teenage son smelling fresh. But, here is the thing about natural deodorants, which are not antiperspirants––they will have to be reapplied at times. This is a fact you learn to live with when you realize one very import thing and adopt this motto: I'd rather reapply than die.

The dangers of using traditional deodorants and antiperspirants are staggering and my family and I would do anything to avoid them. Remember, 65% of everything we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bloodstream and the less toxins we use, the better. So,  I carry my deodorant with me on long or hot days and it's no big deal.

As for this new deodorant scent from Honest, I think it's worth the buy but I don't think it smells distinctively like lavender or vanilla. Still, try it and let me know what you think!
