One of the Best Drugstore Sunscreens for Your Face

It’s officially summer and that means it’s officially time to make sure the sunscreen we are slathering all over ourselves at the beach, at the park, or even while riding in the car is effective and clean.

It can be tough to figure out exactly what works for your skin, all while ensuring that the product you are choosing is safe and won’t do further damage to your skin, with or without the rays of sun beating down on you.

Recently, EWG’s Cosmetic Database released its summer report, full of recommendations for sunscreen that is clean and good for your skin. I was thrilled to discover that my sunscreen of choice passes the test. It is affordable, and ranks well on the database.

Aveeno’s Positively Mineral Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50, intended primarily for your face. According to the website, this sunscreen uses the “magic of minerals.” Aveeno goes on to say, “this mineral-based formula with broad spectrum SPF 50 combines naturally-sourced zinc oxide, nourishing oat and Vitamin E to protect your sensitive skin. Wear it under makeup or alone as a daily defense against UVA/UVB rays.”

Though many of our face creams are equipped with SPF already, during the hotter months, it is important to ensure that we are protecting our faces all throughout the day. While you are not likely applying your regular moisturizer to your face throughout the day, it is vital to apply your sunscreen all over, at least every two hours that you are out in the sun.

If you are looking for an affordable option, this Aveeno sunscreen is great, and comes in a version for your body. Both are recommended by the Cosmetics Database as one of the best beach and sunscreen options.
